I am a sucker for awesome finds

As the title of this post says, I am a sucker for awesome finds. That being said, I have been on the hunt for a pressure cooker so that I can store and save a greater variety of foods through pressure canning. I've been looking and looking for almost 2 years! I've looked at yard sales, scoured deals online, and even resolved to buy a new one. I've found one that I like, but the price tag was pretty steep. A good pressure canner/cooker, at a large enough size to can quarts, is over $100! $100 for a pot- that I wouldn't even be using everyday?! You have got to be kidding me.

But, I was resolved. As the summer approaches, I
have been dreaming about canning green beans, corn, squash, potatoes, and a slew of other wonderful fresh foods from my garden, and from fresh farm stands. So, I was putting my pennies and change aside so that I could buy one.

Well, low and behold, thank goodness for parents that don't throw stuff away and hold onto everything! Hubby and I went home to help clean out a crawl space and guess what I found! A pressure cooker/canner! But wait, there's more! I also got 2 large canner's with canning racks in them! I had been using a large stockpot that I bought, and putting spare knives in the bottom to keep the cans off of the bottom. But, now I have a legit canner and pressure canner/cooker! I know the mustard yellow is a bit "outdated" but kind of love it!

I also got a few other great finds- but I will talk to to them in a later post!

What great finds have you found lately?
