Handmade gifts

Tuesday is Valentine's Day. I have never been a huge fan of V-Day, nor do I think I will ever be. I think it's silly to save all of the emotions you have for people and only express them on one day. Maybe when hubby and I have kids, I will actually decorate for V-Day, and enjoy getting gifts and making it fun for them. I saw this awesome envelope, on Pinterest, to sew and make for the backs of chairs that I would like to make for kids, but until we have them, I'm not going to indulge that project yet.  But for now, hubby and I treat it pretty much like every other day. I like to use it as an excuse to eat chocolate and yummy foods, but I don't advocate only celebrating love once a year. I also think that it's a girly holiday- some of you may disagree with me.

However, as a teacher, I feel a bit obligated to make, or at least give valentine's to the kids. Since I have my own class, for the next 12 weeks at least, I wanted to make something for them. The class is all boys, which led to me my choice of gift. I wanted to make bookmarks for the kids, but nothing too girly. I used my trusty Circuit, some Elmer's glue (because I am out of glue dots) and some electricity. I am going to laminate them when I get to school tomorrow, and give them out on Tuesday. I love crafting!

How do you celebrate Valentine's Day?
