The Garden has Arrived

This post contains affiliate links that help me continue this blog. Thanks for your support!

So it's been about 2 weeks since my last post. It has been especially busy for work, so my blog has had to take a back-burner for the time being. I am struggling to find the balance between hobbies and work stuff and class stuff and home stuff. I hope it gets easier, especially when class is done- which will be early May! (I CANNOT wait!)

Anyway- so I posted here about the types of raised beds that I was thinking about for my vegetable garden in the backyard. A couple of weekends ago, Hubby and I went and bought the wood, and we followed this plan. I ended up changing my mind numerous times, and finally settled on that one because of the simplicity and ease of building it myself- although Hubby ended up helping anyway! Sorry- I don't have a picture of the beds after they were built, but before they had dirt in them.
This was before!
I ordered the dirt to be delivered this past Thursday because it was the first day of SpringBreak and I didn't want to waste a day of it! I was ready to play in the dirt! The dirt arrived 5 minutes before their scheduled drop off time- which very much pleased me because I hate having a 2-hour window, and then they show up in the last 30-minutes.
Here's my dirt pile!
I spent the next two days shoveling dirt, de-weeding numerous flower beds, raking, moving more dirt, and playing in the backyard. The result is something that I am excited to see and share when it is completely finished! In the meantime- enjoy these pre-finished or before pictures of the backyard. Oh wait- I do have some of the beds after being built, but before being filled with dirt.

Don't mind the messed up fence- that is in the words as well!
Next post will focus on the middle stage. There will be pictures of the first sprouts outside, and update on my seedlings, as well as the post backyard photos, prior to being finished!

What did you do over Spring Break?
