DIY Coasters

Ok- so here is the DIY for the coasters I made for the YMCA Festival on Saturday. Enjoy!

Step 1: Get all supplies (no duh!). Materials: ModPodge, 4-6 tiles, scrapbook paper, scissors, ruler, brush/sponge brush, sealant.

Step 2: Measure and cut out scrapbook paper to fit on tiles. You can have the paper come right to the edge of the tile, or just shy of the edge- its totally preference.

Step 3: Flip tiles over, and put felt pads on bottom. This can also be done 2 ways- either a square piece of felt for the whole bottom, or pads for the corners.

Step 4: Paint a coat of ModPodge on the tiles. Lay the scrapbook paper on top. You get a few seconds to move the paper around until you get it where you want it.

Step 5: Paint another coat of ModPodge on top of the paper. You are now going to wait until the ModPodge dries.

Step 6: Once the ModPodge is dry, sand down the top with a fine-grit sand paper to make it smooth.

Step 7 & 8: Repeat steps 5 & 6.

Step 9: Spray the coasters with Spray Sealant (found at craft stores) to waterproof and seal the coasters.

Now, I have a set of coasters that I am going to keep for myself!
