Mother's Day Tea

So it's about a week after Mother's Day and I am finally getting around to posting about our Tea with our moms. Not having my own computer kind of stinks. Hubby has 2 monitors- so I am using my MacBook Pro, plugged into his monitor so I am not having to do without a Mac. (Hubby is a PC user :( )

For preschool- we had a Muffins with Mom event the Friday before Mother's Day. I spent some time make tissue paper flowers/poms for classroom decorations, as well as printing and cutting a banner I found online. I brought them home Friday afternoon and used them for our Tea as well. Hubby bought some fresh tulips and the "stage" was set. It was a great day- my sister, our mom, my mother-in-law, and myself ate around the dining room table, and our dads and Hubby ate pulled-pork in the living room.

The menu-
1. fresh fruit salad with tea sandwiches (chicken and grape salad, and cucumber with a cream spread)
2. Homemade chocolate chip scones and hot tea
3. Homemade strawberry-blueberry tart

I have one of those blooming flower teapots which is always a big hit. The tea tastes wonderful, and it added such a nice, feminine touch.

My sister is in cosmetology school, so she decided to give manicures. What a genius idea! It's a day to "remember, pamper, and honor moms"- although- shouldn't we do that everyday? But it was a great afternoon.

How was your Mother's Day spent?
