Basket Party Preparation

As I said in my last post, I am now an Independent Scentsy Consultant. I am still as excited as I was the day I submitted my order for my first personal Scentsy warmer. I absolutely love the product and I am loving talking to my friends about it and sharing it with people at work. I got my starter kit in the mail on Wednesday and have sold 3 orders so far. That may not compare to a lot of new businesses, but for me, I am excited.

For those of you that don't know what it is, Scentsy is a wickless candle. It is a warmer that houses a light bulb or warming element that melts a scented wax. Scentsy is a great product because it is much more cost effective then candles. There is a one-time fee for the warmer, but then the scented wax bars are only $5, 3 for $14, or 6 for $25. The wax is heated to just above body temperature, and provides an excellent source of "nightlight" when needed. There are small plugin warmers, medium sized warmers, and large warmers. There are designs to go with every decor style and seasonal ones that you can swap out. I just love the scents- there are over 80 and a new scent comes out every month! It is a direct sales company, meaning that I do home parties, basket parties, fundraisers, individual orders, show/fair tables and individual orders. I have been pinning like crazy and scouring the internet for different marketing ideas and any other Scentsy Consultant tips.

I think I am leaning more towards the stackable container because it feeds right into my organization compulsion. I still have to order my mini testers and pick up a few items to put into the "basket", like a calculator and print a couple of things, but they are pretty much all ready.

I am also ready for home shows. But, I think the most important thing I have to do right now is just get the word out. I would have had a launch party, but I literally had one last weekend as the final event that led me to sign up, so I don't want to have another party and ask a lot of the same people. But a training video I watched, I forget which one or where, said that you can have a launch party whenever you want- it doesn't only have to be right away. We shall see!

  5. I got the container at Target for a few bucks on sale. I have about 40 of the small samples in the top, catalogs, flyers, order forms, pens and calculator in the middle and then a room spray, body spray, bar, scent pack, tin and circle in the bottom. I tell them that in order to sample all of the scents, they have to do a home party as a way to encourage home parties, and also because all of the small samples wouldn't fit in the tray.
